Make Me By, Rhiannon Holte

Make Me

Synopsis for Make Me:

What happens to child movie stars after they crash their cars, burn through their money, and land in rehab? This is the story of Anya, a former TV actor, who is determined to claw her way back into the spotlight, and Rhiannon, a friend who is willing to help her. Together they create a website that allows users to vote on ways to give Anya’s life a complete makeover. Fans not only voted on how to change her appearance, they also make other decisions for her, like where she should live and whether to dump her boyfriend. The catch—Anya must do the makeover that wins the most votes or the project will be shut down. The gimmick works, the site goes viral, but the fans aren’t predictable and the makeovers aren’t always easy. Read this behind-the-scenes account of how two eighteen-year-old girls become adults and one of them risks everything to become an icon

My Review:

Let me just start by saying, I loved this book!
It centers around Anya a former television star that is trying to get her career back up and running. It’s told by her friends point of view as they decide to start this crazy makeover website to boost her fame again. It makes them do some insane stuff in order to gain popularity and fans. Let me tell you things get pretty C-R-A-Z-Y!
I think it’s a really original idea that shows the bad side of fame and the crazy lengths people will go through to obtain it.

P.S- they also have an actual website that you can virtually see what they are talking about! I know, Super cool right?
