The Mortal Instruments
Synopsis from City of Bones:
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
Okay, I have to admit I’m slightly obsessed with this series. You are fully emerged and invested in this new shadowhunter lifestyle. The whole love triangle thing definitely was what kept me going through the first three books, I had to prove that this wasn’t true. I love the sarcastic humor and banter between all the characters. It was everything one is looking for in a book — hilarious dialogue, hint of mystery, some romance, and action packed.
The last three books is when the story really evolved. I love the way it just tied everything up in the end yet left it open for more to develop– it was just perfection.
I found it beautifully written, but I have to say sometimes the description got too much for me. I found myself skipping paragraphs of description to get to the dialogue. But the way that Cassandra hooks us in will make me read all of her other books. I wish I could un-read them so that I could read them all over again!
♥♥♥♥♥- 5 Amazing stars! Must Read Series!
Synopsis for Inescapable:
My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me–my freshman year of college. I’d been hoping that once I’d arrived on Crestwood’s campus, the nightmare that I’ve been having would go away. It hasn’t.
I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I’m grounded…sane. I look for rational explanations to even the strangest circumstances. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he’s near, I feel an attraction to him–a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you’re thinking…that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would be…if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I’m the worst thing that has ever happened to Crestwood…or him. But get this, for some reason every time I turn around he’s there, barging into my life.
What is the secret that he’s keeping from me? I’m hoping that it’s anything but what I suspect: that he’s not exactly normal…and neither am I. So, maybe Crestwood won’t be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I’ve been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is…inescapable.
Moving away from the only parent you’ve ever known to move away to college is drastic enough, but what Evie doesn’t count on is the life changing way it’ll effect her. Words can not express how much I love this series. The way Amy puts a twist on the classic love triangle made even me doubting which one I want her to end up with. But it doesn’t just stop at that, it seems like everyone she encounters wants a piece of her! (Literally) The way Evie takes it all in stride with her snarky attitude really makes you fall in love with her. This series is beautifully written and I love it, I can’t wait for the next book due out next year!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥- Obsessed, I want a Fallen Angel Bf of my own 🙂
Hush Hush Synopsis:
Romance was not part of Nora Grey’s plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life
LOVED this series! I can’t believe it say on my shelf for a year before I actually opened the pages. This series is a little near and dear to my heart because it inspired a dream that inspired my own book. You follow Nora as she meets this guy in class and then strange things start to happen to her, is she going crazy? is it all in her head? I loved the mystery of it all. Nora doesn’t know who she can trust, can her best friend understand? is Patch behind all this? Is her Father who she thinks? I don’t want to give too much away, (I hate reviews that dive too deep into the story) Just read Hush Hush– you’ll be diving for the next one in no time.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ – Amazeballs! Must Read, Don’t let this one sit on the shelf like I did!!
