The Selection Series By, Keira Cass

Selection Series

Synopsis for The Selection:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

 My Review:

I’ll be honest when I first read this synopsis I was like Eh, but it continually kept coming up in the “Things you may also like” and GoodReads “Recommendations.” Needless to say, I caved. It’s not the whole pretty pretty princess theme that I originally thought, (yes there are aspects) but America isn’t like every other girl. She doesn’t give two craps about the crown, she’s there for her family and her sanity. From the moment I started reading I was totally enveloped. It appeals to the little girl in me that always wanted to be a princess and the other part that wants to change the world.

You become enveloped in this crazy world of frilly dresses, backstabbing gossipy girls, and rebel attacks. Every day is something new and what drove me crazy yet I loved the fact that I never knew what was going to happen. Just when I thought I had it all figured out Keira threw me for a loop. I loved it, loved the ending and I see that there are other spin off novels I can’t wait to get my hands on!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ — Deff a series to check out! It’s a quick & awesome read!
